Zabit Magomedsharipov: I’ll have an advantage against Holloway

Zabit Magomedsharipov recently made a few comments about his future, next fight and answered to a question about his chances in a potential bout against the Featherweight champion Max Holloway.

“I want to have the next fight soon after the Ramadan ends. It will probably be at the end of August or beginning of September at one of the events in the US. I would also be interested if I was offered to fight at the event in Abu-Dhabi in September.

Would I be interested to fight Brian Ortega? Sure, I’m interested to face anyone from Top 5 besides Frankie Edgar because we train together.

If I were to fight Max Holloway, I think I would have an advantage against him in technique and footwork. And I have better wrestling and grappling. Max is a good boxer and he pressures a lot with his striking but I think my striking is pretty good as well. Max has very good cardio but physically he is not as strong.

I knew he would lose the fight to Dustin Poirier. Max doesn’t have enough power for the 155 lbs division. I mean, he got the weight – he walks at like 185 lbs. But physically he is not very strong.”

Would you guys like to see the fight between Max Holloway and Zabit Magomedsharipov? Do you think Holloway will take this one or Zabit can beat Max like he says?
