Umar Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s cousin, will fight Hunter Azure at UFC 249

Umar Nurmagomedov, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin, officially signed a contract with the UFC and he will make his debut in the undercard of the UFC 249 main event Khabib vs Ferguson. In his UFC debut, Umar will face an undefeated prospect from Dana White’s Contender Series Hunter Azure.

We have been hearing rumors about Umar joining UFC since last year but this time around it is officially confirmed by UFC Russia.

Nurmagomedov-Jr opponent at UFC 249 will be Hunter Azure who holds an undefeated professional record with 8 wins and 0 losses. This looks like a fun matchup of the two undefeated bantamweight prospects. Azure also recently joined UFC; he made his debut on Sept. 14, 2019 at UFC Fight Night 158 Cowboy vs Gaethje. Azure defeated Brad Katona via unanimous decision.

Umar is currently training and preparing for his UFC debut bout against Azure with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team at the AKA gym in San Jose.

Umar Nurmagomedov fights in the UFC’s bantamweight division. He has an undefeated professional record 12-0. Previously to signing with the UFC, Umar was competing in the Russian promotion Fighting Championships and PFL. In his most recent fight, Nurmagomedov-Jr defeated Braian Gonzalez via rear-naked-choke submission.
