Tai Tuivasa started training at the AKA gym in California
An Australian UFC heavyweight fighter, Tai Tuivasa, recently made a move and started training at the AKA gym in San Jose, California. Previously, “BamBam” used to prepare for his fights at the Tiger Muay Thai training camp in Phuket, Thailand.
A 26-year-old Tuivasa has a 12-3 professional MMA record with 3 wins and 3 losses in the UFC. “BamBam” had a nice run at the start of his UFC career with impressive wins over Rashad Coulter, Cyril Asker, and Andrei Arlovski. But since then, he went on a three-fight losing streak. Tuivasa suffered consecutive losses to Junior dos Santos, Blagoy Ivanov, and most recently to Sergey Spivak at UFC 243.
Tai Tuivasa needed a change in training to improve his game that’s why he went to the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose which is considered to be one of the most successful MMA gyms in the world. A list of the notable fighters that trained at the AKA includes two former UFC heavyweight champions Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez.
