5 things we know about Khabib’s wife Mrs. Nurmagomedova
Since Khabib Nurmagomedov became one of the most popular martial artists worldwide, won the UFC Lightweight title and beat the MMA superstar Conor McGregor, there is been a lot of rumors and misinformation about Khabib out there. Specifically about his personal life, religion, and family.
In this post, I would like to share with you some true facts about Khabib’s wife Mrs. Patimat Nurmagomedova which I found from a bunch of different interviews by Khabib himself and his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov to the Russian media.
This is Khabib Nurmagomedov’s famous papakha hat. You can buy an awesome papakha wig just like Khabib’s on the picture above on Amazon here and be the star at the bar/party watching fights in this authentic Caucasian papakha made from 100% sheep wool.
1. We don’t know what Mrs. Nurmagomedova looks like.
Pictures of Khabib and his wife with a covered face from the wedding are the only real pictures of them. The rest of the pictures you might have seen on the internet are either fake or they were taken with his fans or friends.
For example, this pretty lady on the picture above is not Nurmagomedov’s wife. Her name is Olga Buzova and she is a popular Russian pop artist and TV host. They took this picture with Khabib at one of the public events in Russia.
A face of Khabib’s wife was never shown to the public and is very strictly protected. Khabib himself never talks or posts pictures of his wife or his kids in the social media or elsewhere.
Patimat Nurmagomedova lives with Khabib in Dagestan and spends full-time raising kids at home.
2. Khabib and his wife got married in 2013 at home in Dagestan.
They got married in Kirovaul village near Makhachkala where Nurmagomedov’s live.
It was a huge wedding celebrated by the whole village; according to Khabib’s father, throughout the day to the wedding came almost 4000 people. The wedding venue had a capacity of 1200 people and they had to switch guests 3 times to let everyone in. The cost of such a big wedding was only about 700,000 rubles (a little bit over $10k) and half of it was paid by the family friends.
3. Khabib and his wife have two kids at the moment and their third child is on the way.
As of 2019, Khabib has two kids – a girl (was born in June 2015) and a boy (born in December 2017). His daughter’s name is Fatima Nurmagomedova; a son was named after Khabib’s great-grandfather – Magomed Nurmagomedov.
On August 31, 2019 Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov spoke to the Russian media that Khabib and his wife are expecting their third child.
4. Khabib’s wife is his distant relative.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s father, in one of the interviews to the Russian newspaper Sport-Express, mentioned that Khabib’s wife is his distant relative and she actually had last name Nurmagomedova even before she married Khabib.
A village where Khabib and Patimat grow up (Sildi village) is very small and pretty much everyone out there is somehow relative to each other.
5. Khabib could have more than one wife in the future.
Per Muslim traditions, men’s are allowed to have up to 4 wives. “The Eagle” has one wife at the moment but according to Abdulmanap, all men in their family get another wife when they are in their 50’s or 60’s. Khabib’s grandfather had 2 wives, Khabib’s father currently has 2 wives as well.
Once again, we don’t really have much information about Khabib’s wife and his personal life because it is very strictly protected but it is what we know as a fact from the words of his close friends and family members.
