Khabib Will Fight Dustin Poirier If They Won’t Make a Deal With McGregor

A fight against McGregor is in the process of discussion and it looks like both sides Khabib and Conor do want to fight each other. The main object of discussion is money. Both Khabib and McGregor want to make good money on this fight and you can’t blame them – Khabib is a Lightweight champion and he has a perfect record 26:0. Conor McGregor is the most famous and popular mixed martial artist in the world.

Both sides know that if this fight happens, UFC will make a lot of money on it, that’s why now they are trying to negotiate the best deals for themselves.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz recently made a few very interesting announcements. First of all, he said that Khabib won’t fight for less than $10 million. Ali Abdelaziz explained that they are not trying to be greedy and they’ll be happy with the $10 million guaranteed even if UFC makes $100 million of this fight.

“It’s what he deserves. I don’t want anything extra than what he deserves. That’s it. I believe he’s one of the biggest stars in the UFC today.” Ali Abdelaziz

Another thing Ali Abdelaziz mentioned is that if they won’t be able to make a deal on a fight against McGregor, then Khabib will defend the title against Dustin Poirier. It will most likely happen in November or December of 2018. Dustin Poirier is one of the top 3 fighters in the UFC Lightweight division. A few weeks ago, Dustin Poirier won a fight against a former champ Eddie Alvarez.

But once again, it looks like Khabib vs Conor fight is going to happen. It makes sense for everyone and it’s the only fight that can make a lot of money for UFC organization and Conor/Khabib.

We will stay tuned and see what happens over the next few weeks. We should know Khabib’s next opponent very soon and it will either be Conor McGregor or Dustin Poirier.
