Khabib Nurmagomedov: I plan to fight on September 7 and December 21, 2019
The UFC Lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov today publicly announced his plans and details about his future at one of the events in Moscow, Russia.
When will we see Khabib Nurmagomedov’s next fight? According to Khabib himself, his team is in the process of making a deal with the UFC to fight on September 7, 2019. Khabib did not hint anything on who will be his opponent and if it will be a fight against an interim champion (a winner of Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirier).
Just as a reminder, there were rumors a little while back about potential Khabib vs Nate Diaz fight in September 2019.
Khabib also made a comment about his earlier statement that he won’t fight until the end of the suspension of his teammates Zubaira Tukhugov and Abubakar Nurmagomedov (they are suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission until October):
“My brothers are suspended because of me that’s why I made that statement. We are still negotiating, UFC will pay me more if I fight in September, not October. If we make a deal, I’ll fight on September 7. I would also like to have another fight until the end of the year – on December 21st…”
What are your thoughts on this? Who do you think will Khabib face in September and then December? A winner of Max vs Dustin in September and then a rematch with Conor McGregor in December?
