Khabib had coronavirus and refused to take a test?
According to the recent news in the Russian media, Khabib Nurmagomedov possibly had coronavirus infection and he refused to take the COVID-19 test after his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, was hospitalized with pneumonia-like symptoms and tested positive for COVID-19.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was taken to the hospital in Dagestan, Russia on April 25th with pneumonia-like symptoms. He tested positive for coronavirus and is currently in critical condition – he has been placed in a medically induced coma. Khabib’s father had a pre-existing heart condition and he suffered a heart attack due to coronavirus.
We’ve also heard reports that Khabib’s cousin, Shamil Zavurov, also showed some pneumonia-like symptoms around the same time as when Abdulmanap was hospitalized.
According to Khabib himself, a lot of his friends and relatives already had an infection and at least 20 of his relatives living in Sildi, Dagestan were hospitalized. “A lot of them didn’t make it” – stated Khabib.
Dagestan is one of the hardest hit by coronavirus places in Russia. According to the officials, as of May 25, there are 4205 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Dagestan but those numbers are significantly higher in reality.
Having said that, there is a high possibility that Khabib Nurmagomedov actually had coronavirus himself and was asymptomatic. “The Eagle” was in close contact with his father before he was taken to the hospital and tested positive. And the fact that Khabib refused to take a test for COVID-19 is also strange…
We will be monitoring updates on Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s status over the next few weeks. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the Nurmagomedov family.
